What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

We believe that there is only One God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ, at His return.

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious Blood of Jesus Christ.

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world. Amen

Our Pastor

Dr. Daren K. Miller

Our Pastor, Dr. Daren K. Miller, is the first “son” of the Memorial Church to be bestowed by God with the shepherd’s care of His people. Beginning a musical journey as a child, Dr. Miller studied classical piano, and for many years performed for the Philadelphia Music Teachers Association’s Annual Classical Concert Recitals, in addition to auditioning with the world-famous Philadelphia and Pottstown Symphony Orchestras.

For over 40 years, the Lord has allowed Dr. Miller to serve as Minister of Music, pianist, organist, choir director/trainer, producer, songwriter/arranger, and workshop clinician for many churches of various denominations in the Philadelphia and Tri-State areas; as well as the Lord has blessed him to have ministered and recorded with many world-renowned Gospel artists, songwriters, singers, musicians, pastors and evangelists.

In 1992, Dr. Miller founded the Sweet Fellowship Inspirational Community Choir, and in 2000, DMaestro’s Productions Music Company, LLC, both to provide avenues for area gospel singers, songwriters, musicians, groups, and choirs to further cultivate their musical gifts and spread the gospel of Jesus through song.

After serving at Memorial Church in many different capacities, in January 2014, the Lord saw fit to entrust Dr. Miller with the mantle to serve God’s people as the Pastor of the landmark Memorial Church of God in Christ, a church with a long and significant historic past in the COGIC body in the State of Pennsylvania.

A magna cum laude graduate of Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music, in November 2017, Dr. Miller was honored by the St. Thomas Christian University, Jacksonville, FL, with a Doctorate of Divinity Degree for his work in ministry.

Under Dr. & Evangelist Miller’s leadership, Memorial Church has experienced both spiritual and numerical growth, as well as implemented a significant number of projects and initiatives acknowledged via Citations by local and state government representatives, including:

  • Partnership with the American Red Cross and the establishment of community semi-annual blood drives
  • Partnership with Lunch-and-a-Book summer community reading program for children and youth
  • Partnership with Al Anon – a worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics
  • Missions partnerships to feed and clothe the homeless and impoverished
  • Establishment of “The Latter Rain” weekly radio broadcast

Dr. Miller serves as the Jurisdictional Minister of Music of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, and as Spiritual Advisor to the Main Line Black Ministerial Alliance.  He is married to Evangelist Tasha T. Miller, and they are blessed to be the parents of two children, Alanna S. Miller and Darius J. Miller.

Our First Lady

Evangelist Tasha S. Miller

Evangelist Tasha Stephens Miller is a native of Trenton, New Jersey. She was called to ministry early in her life and accepted the call at the age of 18. Knowing that the call on her life was to the area of Evangelism, she was licensed as a minister in 1991 and was then ordained in 1995 by the late Bishop John D. Brown, the Senior Pastor of the Deeper Life Family Worship Center. There, she served faithfully on the ministerial staff, as head of the music department, and conference planning committee member. From the time that she accepted the call to ministry, the Lord began to open doors for her to travel, ministering to many congregations and leadership.

In 2005, the Lord used Evangelist Miller to birth “Rapture Ready Ministries”. This ministry uses practical straight forward teaching that causes the believer to mature, ministering to the total man, and to make solid life choices that will determine where he or she will spend eternity. Understanding her purpose within the body, she is committed to preaching an uncompromised word of deliverance, in order that those whose lives have been transformed by the Power of God may be presented in the day of judgment, as Ephesians 5:27 states, “….[as] a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing but that it should be holy and without blemish”.

Evangelist Miller has been married for the past 20 years to Dr. Daren Miller and has served with her husband for the past 3 years in leadership over the Memorial COGIC. Along with serving in multiple capacities at Memorial, one of her greatest joys is being a mother to two beautiful children, Ms. Alanna S. Miller and Master Darius J. Miller.
